What to look for in a quality Conservatory Suite …

In the lead up to Christmas – and even in the weeks after the seasonal festivities - many people decide to change their conservatory suite.

It has become a bit of a consumer trend, for want of a better phrase, as people use the festive season as an excuse for a bit of a change going into the New Year.

As you may well know we have a huge range of conservatory furniture and much of our time both online and in our Showroom is spent in promoting this to prospective buyers at this time of year.

And, as we’re sure you already know the choice out there is staggering so the final decision is, more often than not, around the price and the quality of the conservatory suite you’re buying.

Our Top Tips for buying a Conservatory Suite that will last for years …

Below are the qualities we look for as hallmarks of quality.

Ultimately the final decision here will always be yours and based on personal choice.

However, we would recommend you be wary of the following …

Comfort Value ...

No, this does not come as standard!

Main things to consider is the seat back position – angled backs in the rake position are by far the best – combined with deep seating preferably with a sprung base for maximum comfort all round.

Tough Finish ...

Nobody wants to have to replace their suite every 12 months because of poor quality. All our suites are hand finished with sturdy jointing, capped feet and quality raw materials.

This is particularly true of rattan conservatory suites where poor quality weaving will soon start to unravel at the seams leaving you with an unsightly and unusable mess.

In cane conservatory suites double thickness arms are also an attention to detail worth noting as well.

The Cushions ...

Perhaps the deal clincher and most important thing but again over and above personal preference there’s a few things to look out for …

  • Covers must be removable for cleaning purposes.

  • Fillings must be chunky and of high quality for maximum comfort value over time.

  • The higher quality fillings usually come with an inner protective wrap for added protection.

  • They need to adhere to UK Fire Retardant Regulations.

Glass Tops ...

Many suites come complete with coffee tables and side tables and again the ‘tough finish’ mentioned above is key here but it is also worth making sure any glass tops are plenty thick enough and made of tempered glass so they withstand the rigours of regular use.

We hope you found this little guide of use and please do feel free to browse our range of conservatory suites which all adhere to the set of quality guidelines above as standard.
